Sad Yet Celebrating!

March 3rd, 2019, St. Timothy’s invites all former members, clergy, staff and friends of St. Tim’s to join us for our final celebration of the Eucharist. Those of us who currently worship here, can no longer maintain the property or support a ministry. The Diocese of Texas plans to begin a new ministry here at a future date. So, let us give thanks and rejoice! St. Timothy’s represents over 60 years of worship and service having been born of the coming together in 1982, of two congregations – All Saints, Galena Park and St. Simons and St. Jude at the current location....

Past & Future Events

Life at St. Timothy’s continues to be busy. On August 31st. & September 7th., School Administrators, Teachers & Students have been recognized, & God’s blessing asked as they begin a new academic year. The first Contemporary Worship service was held August 31st. They will continue to be held on the last Sunday of each  month at 5 p.m. The intention is to encourage St. Timothy’s  younger members to take an active roll in planning & conducting these services. A Joyous Occasion

August 10th., the 10 a.m. congregation witnessed the baptism of our Easter Lily, Lilian Kaye Sproat. In the absence of Fr. Fred, the Rev. Margaret Williams preached & officiated at the service of Holy Communion. Lilian’s paternal grandfather, Rev. Jim Sproat, performed the baptism.

Women’s Study Group

In July, our Deacon, Micki Rios, began a women’s weekly book study. We meet for an hour on Monday mornings from 10 a.m. Currently, we are studying ‘The Last Third of Life: 7 Gateways to Spiritual Growth’ by Richard C. Morgan & June Marie Thibault. All women are invited to join us. On September 8th., under the leadership of Maria Sanchez, the group hosted a women’s luncheon with a talk by Micki. All present agreed that this event should be repeated on a regular basis. Keep checking the website!

Music Classes

In June, David Taylor, our choir director, began a series of music theory classes. Participants found them interesting & frequently entertaining! We learnt things we had never known &/or relearnt things long forgotten!

Supporting Each Other

Karie Nicholson, a long time member of St. Timothy’s, active in the choir & altar guild, has been having serious medical problems this year. On June 7th., a spaghetti dinner & silent auction was held in the parish hall to assist Karie & her husband, Tony with the medical bills.
